Why is it that when I eat ~1500 calories a day of fruits and vegetables with occasional meat and nearly no fats or fast foods, while exercising an average of 3 times a week, I still weigh 250 pounds?

It's not an unreasonable hypothesis; I can outrun, outwrestle, and... well, generally outdo my friend who goes to the gym three times a week. More along the lines of "why do I LOOK so fat." But thank you.

Depends on your eating habits too
Eat smaller meals more frequently throughout the day so your body knows it can dispense of excess energy and fat beecause it knows there's a constant supply coming in.
If you have extended periods between meals your body will tend to store the energy and turn it into fat to wait until the next load comes in =)
Why do I procrastinate and cause myself more problems than I need?
